Assar, US military official mull cooperation
State Minister for Military Production Mohamed Saeed
el Assar met on Monday with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for
Defense Exports and Cooperation Ann Cataldo on the sidelines of the first day
of EDEX-2018.
The meeting touched on Egyptian-US relations
especially in the field of military industry, topped by manufacturing M1 Abrams
tanks in Egypt and coordinating with the US company of AM General to
manufacture armored jeeps.
Cataldo, for her part, pointed to fostering
cooperation in military industry between the Egyptian Ministry of Military
Production and the US side, including manufacturing ammunition and armored
vehicles.
The exhibition runs till December 3 to 5 at the
Egyptian International Convention and Exhibition Center in Cairo.
