Al Azhar graduates organization, Thailand probe cooperation spheres

Deputy Board Chairman of the World Organization for
Al Azhar Graduates and member of the Council of Senior Scholars Mohammed Abdul
Fadil Al-Qousi described extremism as one of the most dangerous diseases of
this era.
Qousi considered the narrow–minded bigots as one of
the major reasons behind the spread of extremist thoughts whose minds represent
a fertile soil for radical ideologies.
Qousi made the remarks at a meeting with a high
level delegation from Thailand that was held on Tuesday here for reviewing
spheres of cooperation between both sides in the domains of training, upgrading
capabilities of religious cadres and spreading the moderate teachings of Islam,
given Al Azhar's key role.
For his part, the secretary of Sheikhul Islam of
Thailand expressed his full appreciation for Al Azhar under its Grand Imam Ahmed
el Tayyeb.
He also hailed Al Azhar's efforts in promoting peace
for humanity and values of coexistence and acceptance of others.
