Infiltration attempt of 246 people into Libya foiled and 284 return home

Marsa Matrouh security bodies on Thursday thwarted
an attempt by 246 persons to infiltrate into Libya via Salloum border crossing.
All legal measures were taken and the prosecution
was notified to launch a probe into the incident.
As many as 284 Egyptians returned home from Libya
via Salloum border crossing over the past 24 hours.
Matrouh security chief Hesham Nasr said in a
statement on Thursday that 42 of the returnees had illegally traveled to Libya.
In the meantime, travel procedures for 866 persons,
including 253 Egyptians and 613 Libyans, were finalized, he added.
Also, 150 trucks crossed the terminal into Egypt.
