An Egyptian delegation under Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs Hamdi Loza took part in a donors conference for development that opened Thursday for the leaders of the Sahel five member-states in Nouakchott.

Leaders and ministers from Mauritania, Niger, Chad, Burkina Faso, Mali, France and Morocco along with representatives from several Arab and foreign countries will participate in the event.

During the inaugural session, the secretary of G5 Sahel presented 40 projects worth 2 billion euros on security, stability and development.

On top of the projects is a railway project linking the capitals of the G5 member states.

The grouping includes Mali, Chad, Niger, Mauritania and Burkina Faso.
