Abdel Rahim Ali said the UAE defense response to Iranian attacks demonstrated both military capability and strategic restraint, highlighting what he described as a model of calculated regional behavior.

Ali stated that the UAE defense response successfully intercepted Iranian missiles and drones, emphasizing the effectiveness of Emirati defense systems. He added that the country chose not to escalate militarily despite the attacks, instead adopting what he described as “strategic patience.”

He argued that this approach followed Egyptian advice not to engage in retaliatory actions that could widen the conflict.

Ali explained that the UAE defense response reflects a broader regional security doctrine that balances deterrence with restraint. He noted that Gulf states demonstrated their ability to defend themselves without triggering a larger war.

He also claimed that recent events challenged narratives suggesting Gulf vulnerability, arguing that the crisis exposed the capacity of regional actors to counter Iranian threats effectively.

The Gulf region has long been a focal point of Middle East tensions, particularly in the context of Iran’s regional influence and missile capabilities. Defense cooperation and investment in advanced systems have become central to regional security strategies.

Ali suggested that the UAE defense response could reshape perceptions of Gulf security, reinforcing confidence in local capabilities while reducing reliance on external intervention. He concluded that combining military readiness with strategic restraint may become a defining feature of future regional security policies.
