The Armed Forces urged on Monday the owners of
companies and factories not to import or produce fabrics used in making army
and police uniforms to preserve national security.
The General Command of the Armed Forces is urging
the owners of companies and factories operating in the textile domain not to
import army-style uniforms or fabrics used to make army and police outfits so
that terrorist elements would not use them to carry out attacks jeopardizing
security and safety of citizens, spokesman for the Armed Forces Tamer Rafai
said in a statement.
The army command warned that whoever would fail in
abiding by these rules would be legally questioned.
The command also urged citizens to report any
violations.
The army forces in cooperation with the Interior
Ministry are reinforcing security along borders and checkpoints to ban the entry
of army fabrics or uniforms into the country.
