A human rights study revealed that al-Houthi militias in Yemen have killed
10,000 people and injured 30,000 others since their coup against legitimacy in
2014.
The study, entitled "Behind the Walls of War," monitored the
violations and human suffering caused by the Houthis in Yemen. It depended on
documented data from reports of international organizations and bodies
specializing in monitoring human rights violations as well as documented
stories of militia abuses.
According to the study quoting the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the
violations of the Houthis in Yemen killed 1546 people, including 478 women,
1022 children, and injured 2450 people.
It added that the Observatory of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights counted
the crimes of kidnapping and forced detention, which amounted to 7049 crimes in
one year, while enforced disappearances amounted to about 1910 cases.
According to the study, the Arab Organization for Human Rights in Britain
showed that torture in the prisons of militias in Yemen during the year 2017
reached about 5,000 cases, and that cases of death under torture hit about 100
cases.
Meanwhile, Amnesty International said in a report that 2403 families in Yemen
were displaced in half a year and the number of displaced persons exceeded
17428.
