UN team in Yemen not to be uniformed or armed

The UN advance team tasked with monitoring a
ceasefire between the Houthi group and the Yemeni government forces in Yemen’s
Hodeidah will not be uniformed or armed, a source at the UN said on Sunday.
The team is led by retired Dutch General Patrick
Cammaert.
The sides in Yemen’s nearly four-year war agreed
during UN-sponsored peace talks in Sweden earlier this month to stop fighting
in Hodeidah city and withdraw forces.
The team will provide support for the management of
and inspections at the ports of Hodeidah, Salif and Ras Issa; and strengthen
the U.N. presence in the war-torn region.
