CAIRO – Director of the Center for Middle East Studies Abdel Rahim Ali said Thursday that Egypt has been standing in the way of Qatar’s plots in the region since the eruption of the June 30 revolution.

The revolution, he said, succeeded in overthrowing the Muslim Brotherhood regime.

He referred at a seminar on the financing of terrorist organizations in French capital Paris to a plan to deprive Egypt of its Nile water share through the construction of the Grand Renaissance Dam in Ethiopia.

The emir of Qatar, Ali said, had promised western governments to move terrorists out of Syria and Iraq and into the Horn of Africa, especially Somalia.

He said he is 100% sure of this Qatari plan, saying it will be executed before the end of this year.

The seminar is organized by the Center for Middle East Studies. It is held simultaneously with an international conference in the French capital on the financing of terrorism.

French President Emmanuel Macron attends the international conference, along with a large number of terrorism experts and government representatives.
