Ali refers to US-Qatari scheme to divide Arab region

CAIRO – Director of the Center for Middle East
Studies Abdel Rahim Ali referred Thursday to attempts by some countries to get
Egypt involved in military confrontations.
He slammed the US for establishing a military base
in Qatar.
Ali added at a seminar on the financing of terrorist
organizations in French capital Paris that the Americans and the Qataris have a
plan to divide the Arab world.
He said the US turned Qatar into an incubator for
terrorist groups by gathering all Middle East terrorists in it.
The aim, he said, is for the US and Qatar to spread
chaos in the Arab world.
Ali said that Doha has become a favorite destination
for Muslim Brotherhood elements escaping their countries.
Qatar, he said, is the only state that launched TV
channels with the sole aim of attacking Arab governments.
He said Qatar has a problem with Saudi Arabia
because of Riyadh's strong links with other Arab nations.
The seminar is organized by the Center for Middle
East Studies. It is held simultaneously with an international conference in the
French capital on the financing of terrorism.
French President Emmanuel Macron attends the
international conference, along with a large number of terrorism experts and
government representatives.
