OIC condemns Israeli authorization to build 2,200 new settlements in WB
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has
strongly condemned an Israeli authorization to construct nearly 2,200 new
settlement homes in the occupied West Bank.
This reflects Israel's continued policies based on
racism and ethnic cleansing, as well as its ongoing breach of the rights of the
Palestinian people.
The continued building and expansion of Israeli
settlements is in clear violation of international law and relevant UN
agreements and resolutions, said OIC Secretary General Youssef Al Othaimeen
Sunday.
He urged the world community, the UN Security
Council in particular, to live up to its responsibilities and make tangible
measures to bring to a complete end the construction of Israeli settlements on
occupied Palestinian lands, including al Quds.
