Iraqi military operation to track Daesh in northeastern Diyala

An Iraqi military operation was launched Wednesday
to hunt down Daesh cells in northeastern Diyala.
The operation aims at bringing about security and
stability along with tracking Daesh elements in the governorate, El Ekhbariya
news channel quoted Iraqi security sources as saying.
The Iraqi military intelligence also announced on
Wednesday dismantling a dangerous terrorist cell in southern Mosul.
The five-strong cell - a Daesh affiliate - was
orchestrating to attack key figures, the intelligence said in a statement. All
the cell members were arrested.
The newspapers also reported that, some Daesh
hideouts in Kirkuk were destroyed by Iraqi army jets, Iraqi security media
center said.
The Iraqi police launched inspection campaigns in
Kirkuk, the center said, adding that five weapon warehouses were found and two
suspects were arrested.
Also, six hideouts including food supplies and
explosives were found in Kirkuk during the operation.
