Egypt restores its vital role in the African
continent via its presidency of the 31st session of the African Union (AU) in
2019 succeeding Rwanda.
Kigali will hand over Cairo the AU presidency during the expected African
summit to be held by the end of January in Addis Ababa.
Egypt has succeeded in restoring its historical status among the countries of
the continent in a record time in light of the vital interests binding the
country with the African states.
Egypt's AU presidency comes after four years of hard work and preparations in
addition to placing relations with Africa among the country's top foreign
policy priorities.
