Spanish FM stresses his country's continued support to two-state solution

Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, the European
Union and Cooperation Josep Borrell confirmed that his country is committed to
supporting the two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
The Spanish foreign minister made the remarks at a
meeting with Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency
for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) Pierre Krähenbühl, who is currently on an
official visit to Spain.
Borrell pointed out that the situation of the
Palestinian refugees and the status of Al Quds are representing core issues in
Oslo Agreement, said a press release distributed by the Spanish Embassy in
Cairo.
Borrell also hailed the vital and irreplaceable role
of the UNRWA in offering social services to more than 5.4 million Palestinian
refugees in addition to establishing schools for more than half million
Palestinian children and youth.
He called on the UNRWA to continue to rely on Spain
in the future which, he described, as one of the major international supporters
to the agency.
Both sides commended the overall contributions
offered by Spain to the UNRWA which exceeded 17 million euros in 2018.
