7 Taliban killed in Afghan, coalition forces operations in south Afghanistan
At least seven Taliban militants have been killed
during separate operations of Afghan and coalition forces in three southern
provinces of the country, the Afghan news agency Khaama Press reported on
Tuesday.
Military sources confirmed that a coalition air
strike in Shah Joy district of Zabul killed two Taliban elements.
The sources added that the Afghan Special Operations
Forces conducted a raid in Tarin Kot city of Uruzgan province, killing two
Taliban fighters.
In the meantime, Coalition air strikes in Nahr-e
Saraj and Garm Ser districts of Helmandn left 3 Taliban fighters dead while a
weapons cache was also destroyed.
Both the Afghan and Coalition Forces have stepped up
ground operations and airstrikes against the anti-government armed militants in
the restive parts of the country.
