Moscow: New UN Syria envoy to visit Russia on Monday

New UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen will
visit Moscow on Monday, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin said
on Friday.
"We plan a meeting with UN Special Envoy for
Syria Pedersen on January 21 in Moscow," Vershinin told reporters.
"It will be his first visit to Moscow," he
added.
"We expect that Pedersen will brief us on his
vision about means of implementing UN resolutions on Syria and the efforts to
be made to achieve political settlement in the country", the Russian
official said.
