House of Deputies Member and the Director of the Middle East Center for Studies in Paris, Dr Abdel Rahim Ali, said Sunday that Egypt has a clear project and that as a regional leader, Egypt will be second to no other country in the region.

He added at a seminar in Dutch capital, Amsterdam, that Egypt always strives to solve the problems of the region and nip plans for dividing regional states in the bud.

Ali noted that Egypt has always been a strong backer of the Palestinians.

"The leaders of Hamas are always welcome in Cairo," Ali said. "Egypt offers full support against the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories."

He added that Egyptians had always backed their Arab brethren, even at the most difficult of times.

"Egypt will continue to do this under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi," Ali said.

Ali is in Amsterdam at an invitation by the Supreme Council of the Egyptian Community in Holland. He will speak at the seminar about a wide range of issues, including the terrorist threat on Europe, the conditions of the Copts in Egypt and also the status of the Muslim Brotherhood in the country and outside it.
