AL Chief hails Arab socio-economic summit as 'very positive'
Bassil said the Arab Economic Summit has been
crowned with success, extending thanks to the AL General Secretariat, Lebanese
authorities and all participating delegations for concluding the event
successfully.
The minister said the Summit Declaration is "a
victory for Lebanon and all countries hosting the displaced, and a solidarity
stand by other Arab countries towards the host countries."
On Syria's reinstatement, Bassil said: "We have
detected a positive response to the notion of Syria's return to the Arab
nation."
"There has been no communication with Syria in
this respect and we do not know its position on this subject, but we express
Lebanon's opinion since the return of Syria to the League is part of its return
to the Arab embrace," he added.
