Iraq keen on strengthening regional, int'l ties
Iraqi President Barham Salih asserted that Iraq is
keen on strengthening its regional and international ties and buttress
cooperation with neighboring states to promote its role in the region.
This came during Salih's meeting with visiting
Spanish King Felipe VI.
The president lauded the depth of historical ties
between both countries and praised the support of the international community
to Iraq's reconstruction process.
He urged the Spanish government to effectively
contribute to the construction of Iraq, lauding its role in Iraq's war against
Daesh.
Meanwhile, the Spanish king asserted keenness on
boosting Spanish-Iraqi ties and contributing to the reconstruction of Iraq.
The Spanish king arrived in Baghdad earlier on
Wednesday on the first visit to be paid by a Spanish king to Iraq in forty
years.
