Washington demands clarification on new European mechanism for trade with Iran

The US Embassy in Berlin called on the German
authorities to make the new finance mechanism for European trade for non-dollar
trade with Iran (INSTEX) available for it to get acquainted with the details of
the new mechanism.
The US Embassy underlined a decision that was issued
earlier by US President Donald Trump on imposing sanctions against the
countries which trade with Tehran, Al Hurra news channel reported on Thursday.
France, Germany and Britain have set up a mechanism
for non-dollar trade with Iran to avert US sanctions.
The new European trade vehicle was conceived as a
way to help match Iranian oil and gas exports against purchases of EU goods.
The Instrument In Support Of Trade Exchanges is
expected to be officially announced following the European Union ministerial
meeting in Bucharest.
