Yemen's two warring parties meet UN official on ship
Sunday 03/February/2019 - 02:00 PM

Patrick Cammaert
Head of the Redeployment Coordination Committee
(RCC) overseeing the truce in Yemen retired Gen. Patrick Cammaert met with
representatives of the Yemeni government and Houthi militias on Sunday to
discuss the implementation of the ceasefire agreement.
The meeting took place on board of a ship off
Hodeidah city as the two warring parties failed to agree on the venue of the
meeting.
Hodeidah is the main entry point for most of Yemen's
imports.
The ship was hired by the UN to be used as the headquarters
of the Redeployment Coordination Committee (RCC) overseeing the ceasefire
implementation.
Talks will also tackle the withdrawal of Houthis
from Hodeidah and opening safe corridors for humanitarian assistance.
