Germany’s Hamburg air strike cancels more than 60 flights

German airport of Hamburg started a strike today,
which lead to cancel more than 60 flight
departures and arrivals from 388 scheduled flights today.
The Hamburg airport administration told the
Reference that the strike began today in the early hours of workers of the
ground services staff working at the airport, which calls on their union to
raise their monthly wages and demands of the union estimated at more than 270
euros per month per worker for more than one thousand and fifty workers.
The union did not receive even tentative approval,
leading ground service personnel, including the staff inspecting the strike,
from Monday to work, causing considerable paralysis in the take-off of many
flights from and to Hamburg airport. Hamburg airport appealed to travelers to
look for other means such as trains to reach their goals with the airport
management and companies based on these actions losses and compensation for
passengers who were affected by this strike.
Last January, the same union joined its staff at six
different airports in Germany for a full day strike, which resulted in heavy
losses suffered by various airports. One month earlier, a strike by railway
officials was for the same reason, raising monthly wages for employees.
