Saudi forces intercept ballistic missile fired from Yemeni soil
Spokesman for the Coalition for the Support of
Legitimacy in Yemen, Colonel Turki al-Maliki on Wednesday said that Saudi air
defense forces managed to intercept a ballistic missile that was fired by
Iran-supported Houthi militants from the Yemeni Saada governorate towards Saudi
Arabia.
He added in press statements, that were carried by
the Saudi Press Agency that the rocket was targeting the populated Jazan city.
This hostile act by the Houthi militants who are
supported by Iran proves that the Iranian regime continues its support for the
Houthi elements in defiance of United Nations resolutions 2216 and 2231, he
added.
These practices are jeopardizing the security of not
only Saudi Arabia but also regional and international security, he added.
