Abul Gheit calls for revising int'l nuclear deal with Iran

Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit
stressed the necessity of revising the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action
(JCPOA), known commonly as the Iran nuclear deal.
The plan of action is an international agreement on
the nuclear program of Iran. It was reached in Vienna on July 14, 2015 between
Iran, the P5+1 (the five permanent members of the United Nations Security
Council—China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, United States—plus Germany), and
the European Union.
In statements to Tunisian reporters on Wednesday on
the US withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal, Abul Gheit said the agreement
"primarily focused" on Iran's nuclear program, disregarding Iran's
policies that cause instability in the region.
He further stressed that recent resolutions adopted
at the Arab summits in Jordan and Saudi Arabia are clear and explicit, saying
they showed Arab countries' fury at Iran's policies in the Arab region.
"We have repeatedly called on Iran to seriously
reconsider its policies, if it really seeks to establish good-neighborly ties
with Arab states," Abul Gheit concluded.
