The Arab world has its own identity…we must let them live in peace, Gilbert Sinuet says
Gilbert Sinuet, a French journalist and writer who
accompanied French President Emmanuel Macaron during his latest visit to Egypt
said Wednesday that “the Western world should not interfere in the Arab world affairs
as the East has its own identity. We must let them live in peace”.
Sinuet added at a seminar on human rights organized
by the Center for Middle East Studies in Paris that "The Western world is
not aware of the complex nature of the Arab world.
“If we return to history in Egypt to the time of
colonialism we will find that the West did not understand what was happening in
Cairo, and what does this heritage of population and civilization mean?” Sinuet
said that at a seminar on human rights organized by the Center for Middle East
Studies in Paris
Titled "Human Rights at the Time of War on
Terrorism and social Crises: Between Idealism and Realism", the seminar is
moderated by Ahmed Youssef, CEMO's executive director.
Speaking at the seminar – apart from Ali – will be
General Robert Pryce, the former commander of French troops in Yugoslavia, the
former director of the Anfalid military museum, and the current president of
the Napoleon Foundation.
Gilbert Sinuet, a French journalist and writer who
