Egypt's Mufti: Fighting terrorism is societal responsibility
Mufti of the Republic Shawky Allam confirmed that
fighting extremism and terrorism is a social responsibility, in which all
citizens complement with each other to form a strong shield against terror groups.
In a statement on Friday, the Mufti highlighted
the role that should be played by the cultural and educational institutions in
promoting the societal responsibility.
The Mufti described cooperation among all State's
institutions and citizens in countering extremist ideology as a national and
religious duty.
Darul Iftaa has worked on dismantling the
extremist thoughts via cyberspace and social media platforms, Allam said,
adding that more than 7.5 million followers are following up the official pages
of Darul Iftaa.
Among its efforts, Darul Iftaa has also released
several videos and cartoon episodes, in addition to holding periodical seminars
with the youth nationwide in cooperation with the Youth Ministry, Allam added.
