7 Hasm terrorists killed in Giza, Interior Ministry reported

Police forces managed to kill a total of seven
terrorists in Giza during fire exchange in two separate locations, the Interior
Ministry said in a statement. The killed elements reportedly belong to the
Islamist militant group, Hasm Movement.
The police targeted the elements as security
investigations revealed they had planned to plant an explosive device in one of
Giza's streets, the statement read.
Three elements of Hasm Movement started shooting at
policemen who attempted to approach their car, injuring a police officer.
Police could kill the elements and seize an improvised explosive device inside
the terrorists' vehicle. It also seized an automatic rifle, a gun and many
bullets.
Also, the police raided an apartment in Giza's 6th
of October City, which security investigations said is a hotbed used by
terrorists to manufacture explosives. The fire exchange resulted in the death
of four elements, according to the police statement.
Subsequently, police could seize some explosive
materials, and three automatic rifles.
Hasm is an Islamist militant group operating in
Egypt. In Arabic, the word “Hasm” means decisiveness. It also stands for Ḥarakat
Sawa'd Miṣr (Arms of Egypt Movement). Hasm
has been associated with nearly every terrorist attack in Egypt during the last
year.
Hasm group is supposedly linked to the Muslim
Brotherhood, a group which is deemed illegal in Egypt. However, the
Brotherhood’s media spokesman, Talaat Fahmi, denied the Brotherhood’s links to
Hasm to Turkish-led Anadul agency in December 2016. He said the Brotherhood
could never be linked to those who commit violence and bloodshed.
