9 tunnels uncovered, destroyed along borders in North Sinai – spokesman

Anti-terrorism forces, in cooperation with army
engineers, uncovered and destroyed nine tunnels along borders in North Sinai,
said military spokesman Tamer Refaei on Thursday.
The 30 meter deep tunnels were used by terrorists in
smuggling weapons, ammunition and explosive materials.
The raid, launched upon intelligence information,
comes as part of the Armed Forces' tireless efforts to purge North Sinai from
terrorism and hunt down terrorists.
Power cables and amounts of fuel were among the
objects found inside the tunnels, he said.
Also, two vehicles used by terrorists, 40 bombs and
materials used in manufacturing explosives were destroyed, the spokesman said.
