Armed Forces hold seminars to promote public awareness of ‘heroic acts’

Within the framework of promoting
public awareness on the Armed Forces’ “heroic deeds,” the Ministry of Defense
held a number of cultural symposiums attended by hundreds of academic students
in Cairo and Minya on Thursday, according to the ministry's statement.
The series of symposiums, organized
in cooperation with the Ministry of Education in a number of public schools and
universities, aim at rooting the sense of loyalty in the new generations, the
statement added.
Relatives of a number of military
victims, who were killed by terrorists, were honored during the symposiums, the
statement read.
On October 11, 2018, President Abdel
Fatah al-Sisi attended the 29th Educational Seminar of the Armed Forces, titled
"October..Continuity of Generations”. The seminar coincided with the 45th
anniversary of the 6th of October war victory celebrations.
Over the past years, Egypt has
launched several military operations, including Operation Eagle in mid-2011,
Operation Sinai in mid-2012 and Operation Martyr's Right from 2015 till
present. According to official statements, these operations killed thousands of
militants, who were involved in terrorist attacks targeting military forces and
facilities.
The ongoing military Operation Sinai
2018 is considered to be the largest military action in the Sinai Peninsula in
many years. The operation targets sites in Rafah, Arish and Sheikh Zuweid, in
addition to all towns in the northern area of the peninsula.
