Sisi nominates Kamel Wazir to assume Transport Ministry
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has nominated Maj.
Gen. Kamel el Wazir, the chairman of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, to
take up the transport portfolio.
Speaking during an educational symposium of the
Armed Forces Sunday, Sisi said an approval by the House of Representatives is
needed before Wazir could officially assume the post.
Wazir will be expected to upgrade the railway sector
to be as good as new by June 30, 2020, the president further said.
The minister-to-be will have full support from all
bodies concerned, atop of which the Armed Forces, Sisi stressed.
Wazir thanked the president for his trust and
promised to work hard to upgrade the railway authority.
The House of Representatives has approved the
nomination of Lieutenant General Kamel Abdel Hadi Farag el Wazir for the post
of Minister of Transportation.
The approval was made during a plenary session held
here on Sunday chaired by House Speaker Dr Ali Abdel Aal.
