Biography of new transport minister Kamel el Wazir

The House of Representatives has approved the
nomination of Lieutenant General Kamel Abdel Hadi Farag el Wazir for the post
of Minister of Transport.
The appointment came a few hours after President Abdel Fattah El Sisi promoted
Wazir to Lt. Gen. during a symposium held earlier in the day to mark Martyr's
Day.
The promotion decision was taken in recognition of the great services offered
by Wazir to serve the homeland.
Wazir graduated from the Military Technical College in July 1980.
He got the Master's degree in military science from Nasser Military Academy.
In December 2015, Wazir was appointed as head of the Armed Forces Engineering
Authority.
He oversaw the implementation of several mega projects, topped by the New Suez
Canal project and El-Galala Plateau in Suez.
