Meeting of dwarfs in Doha: Tamim and Sarraj at the table of terrorism

Ten days after the meeting of the Libyan parties in the UAE
capital Abu Dhabi, which resulted in a political agreement to quickly end the
transitional period and hold general elections at the earliest opportunity, Libya’s
Government of National Accord (GNA) President Fayez al-Sarraj, who is close to
the Islamists, was a guest in Doha on Sunday to meet with Qatari Emir Tamim bin
Hamad.
According to the Qatar News Agency, the meeting dealt with
the bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as developments in
the Libyan and international arena.
The GNA, which is affiliated with the Islamists, has strong
relations with Doha, which explains the full support that Qatar provides to
Islamist groups in Libya.
The Abu Dhabi meeting was welcomed regionally and
internationally after the UAE succeeded in assembling the parties and helped
them reach an agreement that would ensure the end of the transitional period.
While international actors praised the UAE’s role in the
Libyan crisis, Qatar quickly resolved to hold a meeting between the Qatari emir
and Sarraj in order to confirm its presence.
Libyan researcher Abdul Basset bin Hamel dealt with the
meeting with a kind of irony, describing it as “the meeting of the giants” and
condemning Qatar’s assertion that it is supporting the stability of Libya, pointing
out the country’s role in supporting the armed militias.
