Libyan researcher reveals why Mitiga airport suspended flights

Libyan researcher Abdel Basset
Binhamel dismissed the reason given by Mitiga Airport’s administration for the
suspension of flights on Saturday evening.
“The suspension was aimed at opening
the airport for transporting arms to militias,” Binhamel told THE REFERENCE.
The airport's Facebook page ascribed
the suspension to some drone 5,000 feet high flying nearby. That could endanger
civilian planes, it said.
The airport resumed fights on
Sunday.
Binhamel said the Libyan National
Army, led by Khalifa Hafter, was preparing to enter Tripoli anytime.
Faiez Serraj, head of the Government
of National Accord, visited Doha on Sunday to meet Tamim bin Hamad, emir of
Qatar. Observers said Qatar wanted to show support to its allies in Libya.
