Al-shabaab takes control over Gedo Region in Kenya

Kenyan troops departed Gedo region of Somalia today
leaving a vacuum.
Sources from the region reveal that Kenyan AMISOM
troops left their territories early this morning. Kenyan troops had their base
in Buusaar location.
Residents claim that Al-Shabaab has conquered the
area. They reported that the militants drove in with military vehicles and
fighters.
It is said that Kenyan AMISOM troops switched off
communication networks of Buusaar location before departing. It is unclear why
the troops had to leave their base.
This is the second time in two days troops are
reported to abandon their designated bases. This comes just a day after Somali
soldiers abandoned coastal Danani district on lack of pay claims. Al-Shabaab
stays control over that area as well.
