AL firm on Arab Golan stance, says spox

The Arab League (AL) has always stressed that the
occupied Syrian Golan is an Arab land, spokesman for the AL chief Mahmoud Afifi
has reiterated.
Not just that, but the 1981 UN Security Council
resolution also states that the Golan Heights belong to Syria, Afifi said in
press statements Sunday.
He said that the agenda of an upcoming Arab Summit
in Tunisia will include 20 topics, atop of which the Palestinian cause and the
crises in Syria, Libya, Yemen and Sudan.
Slated for Mach 31, the summit will also focus on
Iranian and Turkish interference in Arab affairs, Afifi added.
It will also tackle efforts to upgrade the Arab
national security system and fight terrorism, the spokesman further said.
At the request of Iraq, the issue of displaced Arab
populations will also be included in the agenda, Afifi made it clear.
The AL chief will submit a report on the
implementation of resolutions reached during the previous Arab summit, he told
reporters.
Afifi added that so far Syria's return to the
pan-Arab body is not on the agenda.
