US press reports revealed the size of Iran's funding for the
"Sabreen" Shiite movement led by "Hisham Salem", and the
scenes of his detention for 17 days in the prisons of the Palestinian Hamas
movement in the Gaza Strip.
The Secretary-General of the armed movement was released after his arrest that
lasted from February 26 to March 10, after the elements of the
"Saberin" surrendered their weapons in return for the release of
their Secretary-General.
According to the US news website Al-Monitor, Iran did not intervene to prevent
the arrest of leaders and members of the Al-Sabreen who reached more than 70
people in prisons.
Iran has established a movement to spread Shiism along the lines of the
Lebanese Hezbollah, the so-called "Saber Movement" in 2014, a Shiite
movement headed by a secretary-general named Hisham Salem, a dissident leader
of the Islamic Jihad movement and founder of the movement with a group of
dissident leaders.
The Sabreen movement receives direct funding from Qasim Soleimani, the
commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard. The movement is working to spread
Shiism in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, but is concentrated in Gaza more
because there is no strong opposition from Hamas.
The mullahs in Iran used the situation in Gaza to spend money, and established
charitable societies to aid the Palestinians through aid. These include the
Imadat Khomeini and the Goodies, which were established in 2016.
In an interview with the Iranian Al-Kawthar channel during the anniversary of
the death of Imam Hussein, the secretary-general of Al-Sabreen movement
declared that Palestine is a new Karbala and needs a new Hussein to liberate
it.
Iran has condemned the nuclear agreement, condemned Hezbollah's classification
of terrorist lists, and criticized the position of the Arab coalition to
support the legitimacy of Yemen and considered it an aggression against
Yemenis, referring to the Huthis.
According to the US Department of State, Al-Sabreen is included in a special
list of global terrorism in 2017. The list included Ismail Haniyeh, the leader
of Hamas.
For his part, the expert on Iranian affairs, Dr. Mohammed Bnaya, said that the
al-Monitor report confirms Iran's plans in the Arab region, and targets the
Palestinian cause to work on the existence of factions and militias loyal to
them, and the splits within the Palestinian forces.
"The movement is similar to the Hezbollah model in Lebanon, the Shiite
militias in Iraq and the Houthi militia in Yemen, which serves the Iranian
project and does not serve the Palestinian cause," he said in a statement.
