Saudi leader rejects any measures meant to undermine Syria's sovereignty over Golan

King Salman bin Abdulaziz reiterated the kingdom's
categorical rejection of any measures meant to undermine Syria's sovereignty over
Golan Heights.
Addressing the 30th Arab summit here, King Salman
underlined the importance of reaching a political solution to the Syrian crisis
that guarantees the Arab country's security, stability and sovereignty in
accordance with Geneva-1 final communique and UNSC resolution 2254.
The Saudi leader also reiterated support of the
Palestinian issue and the right to set up an independent Palestinian state in
the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
US President Donald Trump signed a proclamation last
week recognizing the Golan Heights as Israeli, less than four months after
recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
The Saudi monarch expounded the accomplishments
realized during his country's presidency of the 29th summit.
He thanked the Arab countries and the Arab League
secretariat for their cooperation with the kingdom during its presidency of the
Arab League council.
