Tripoli's liberation has already started - Mesmari

National Libyan Army spokesman, General Ahmed al-Mesmari, said Thursday that military operations for the liberation of Libyan capital Tripoli had already started.
National Libyan
Army Commander, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, has already given orders to the
army to liberate the Libyan capital and purge it of terrorists, he said.
He added at a
press briefing against the background of ongoing operations in western Libya
that there would be no going back in these orders, especially after the army
had succeeded in entering the northwestern Libyan city of Gharyan.
Al-Mesmari called
on Libyan citizens in the areas entered by the army to follow the orders of the
general commander.
"The army
will fight against all types of terrorists until the end," al-Mesmari
said.
Haftar issued
directives to his troops earlier to enter Tripoli to liberate it from the
control of militias and armed groups.
He asked Libyans
citizens in an audio to follow the commands of the army.
"I have
issued the directives for entering Tripoli in response to requests by its
people," Haftar said.
Early this year,
Haftar gave the go-ahead for an operation for the liberation of Libyan cities
in the southern part of the country.
He is now pushing
toward western Libya, having already controlled the eastern, southern and
central parts of the North African state.
