Arab Quartet refuses to attend meeting of parliamentarians in Doha

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and
Egypt have said they will not attend the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s meeting
due to be held in Doha because Qatar has not changed the kind of behavior which
made them sever ties two years ago.
The Arab quartet has submitted a joint statement to
the General Secretariat of the IPU during the 139th General Assembly held in
Geneva, objecting Qatar's hosting of the Union’s 140th General Assembly in
Doha, it said in a statement.
The quartet said it will boycott the April 6-10
meeting because Qatar "has not responded to the just demands of the four
countries and has continued its supportive policy for extremism, terrorism and
interference in the affairs of the region's countries.”
