Court upholds prison sentence against Abu Ismail

The Court of Cassation on Saturday turned down a challenge submitted by Hazem Salah Abu Ismail and five others.
The six convicts lodged their challenge against a
five-year jail sentence they received for besieging Nasr City court and
threatening members of the prosecution in December 2012.
In January 2017, Cairo Criminal Court sentenced the
convicts for five years in the case of besieging Nasr City court in December
2012.
Eleven others were sentenced to prison for 10 years
in absentia.
The had been charged with of threatening the members
of the general prosecution, preventing them from carrying out their duties,
forcing them to issue a decision to release Ahmed Arfa, damaging public
property and shouting out slogans against the prosecution.
