CEMO chief praises EU for its firm stance against Turkey

MP Dr. Abdel Rahim Ali, the Director
of the Middle East Center for Studies in Paris (CEMO), has lauded Europe’s firm
and clear-cut stance against the Turkish intentions to dig into the Cypriot
water in an obscene disregard for the rights of other countries.
Dr. Ali lauded Federica Mogherini,
the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs, who voiced her “deep
concern" over Turkey's announcement to dig for natural gas in the
exclusive economic zone of Cyprus.
"In March 2018, the European
Council strongly condemned Turkey's continued illegal actions in the Eastern
Mediterranean. In this context, we urgently call on Turkey to show restraint,"
Mogherini said, calling on Turkey to refrain from any illegal action, stressing
that the EU would firmly stand by Cyprus.
Dr. Ali has warned the Turkish its
reckless regime led by Recep Tayyip Erdogan of taking irresponsible actions,
citing that Erdogan is “playing with fire” stressing that his end would be
painful due to his irresponsible actions.
