About 110 Houthis, including key Houthi leaders,
were killed and 60 others injured during confrontations with the Yemeni
national army in the northern fronts of Dhala in southern Yemen, a Yemeni
military source said.
Yemeni troops, backed by popular resistance, forced
the Houthi militias to flee under heavy fire, the source said, noting that the
militias sustained heavy loss.
Since 2015, Yemen’s government has been locked in a
civil war against the Houthis, a militia movement that originated in Northern
Yemen. That conflict has caused considerable casualties that have led to
accusations of war crimes, and it has caused a famine that has killed an
estimated 50,000 people.
