Six suspected terrorists killed in CTD operation

At least six suspected militants were killed in an
operation conducted by the counter-terrorism department late on Saturday night near
the Chenab Bridge in Gujrat.
According to The Express Tribune, the law
enforcement agencies conducted the operation on a tip-off.
The terrorists opened fire upon seeing the
approaching CTD officials. The fire exchange lasted an hour.
Three terrorists managed to escape. A search
operation for the arrest of the absconders is underway.
According to the CTD sources, the terrorists who
were killed during the operation were identified as Sohaib, Abdul Muqeem,
Faisal, Usman, Abdul Azeem and Rauf.
The police also recovered two suicide jackets, one
kalashnikov, one hand grenade and other explosive materials.
Officials stated that Sohaib, who was killed in the
encounter, was involved in Lahore blasts.
