Ahmed al-Mismari, spokesman for the Libyan army, said on Sunday that the Libyan army swept the largest
district in Derna.
Al-Mismari was quoted as saying by Sky News
Arabia that al-Qaeda joined forces with the Muslim Brotherhood and Daesh
against the Libyan army.
"The army is laying siege to the
remaining militants of Daesh in Derna with the help of the city's residents.
Most takfiri leaders were killed," al-Mismari said.
In May, Khalifa Haftar, commander of the
Libyan army, launched a military operation to free Derna from terrorists.
