13 Taliban militants killed in southern Afghanistan

Afghan security forces carried out a series of
airstrikes in three districts of Helmand province killing at least 13 Taliban
militants, Khaama Press news agency reported.
Military officials said Tuesday that an airstrike
killed five Taliban fighters and wounded two others in Marjah district of
Helmand.
In the meantime, an airstrike killed two fighters in
Sangin district of Helmand.
A similar airstrike killed six Taliban fighters in
Nahr-e-Saraj district of the same province, the informed military officials
said.
Anti-government armed militants, including the Taliban,
have not commented regarding the airstrikes so far.
Helmand is among the volatile provinces in southern
Afghanistan.
