Somali immigrant seriously injures 75-year-old man in Germany
A brutal attack took place on the night of May
16 in the western city of Baden-Württemberg. A 25-year-old asylum seeker beat a
retired man, kicked him and shouted "God is great".
D. Detlev is 75 years old and, according to
Bild, suffers from cancer and has lost his wife last year. He returned to his
home when he was attacked for an unknown reason by Ali M, 25, a Somali national
who arrived in Germany in 2015. According to Bild, he was a refugee in 2017.
A young Somali witness testified that the
immigrant attacked the old man repeatedly while the man was lying on the ground
- according to the witness. The attacker was shouting "Allah is
great". The witness called the police, who arrested the suspect near the
crime scene.
The circumstances of the incident remain
unclear. The suspect refuses to make any statements. The seriously injured man
was evacuated Thursday to a private clinic on a helicopter.
