9 injured in Houthi attack on Saudi Arabia’s Abha airport

Nine people were injured following an attack by the Houthi
militia targeting Saudi Arabia’s Abha International Airport on Tuesday, Al
Arabiya channel reported.
"The terrorist attack on Abha airport... led to the
injury of nine civilians, including eight Saudi citizens and one carrying an
Indian passport," Arab coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki said in
a statement, adding that they were all in stable condition.
He stated that the attack took place at 12:35 am local time.
The Houthis have stepped up attacks on neighboring Saudi
Arabia in recent weeks. On June 23, the militia had also targeted Abha airport,
killing one and injuring seven others.
Flights resumed at Abha Airport hours after being hit by a
terror attack staged by Houthi militias in Yemen.
The airport is working at full capacity and flights are
regular, according to Al Arabiya news channel.
The UAE has strongly condemned the. In a statement carried
by WAM Tuesday, the UAE Foreign Ministry said the Houthi attack violates
international law and conventions.
The Houthi militias are seeking to undermine security and
stability in the region, the statement added.
The UAE reiterates its solidarity with Saudi Arabia against
any threat to its security and stability, and supports all measures taken by
the Saudi government to maintain its security, according to the statement.
Any threat to Saudi Arabia’s security is considered a threat
to the UAE’s security and stability, the statement noted.
