Yemeni forces shell Houthi posts in Hudaydah

Fierce clashes have erupted in al Nekhailah region
of Hudaydah province as Yemen's joint resistance forces, backed by the
Saudi-led Arab coalition advanced towards Hudaydah airport, according to Yemeni
field sources.
The Yemeni resistance forces' artillery and Arab
coalition warplanes shelled posts of the Houthi militias at the area, Sky News
channel reported on Thursday, quoting Yemeni sources as saying.
The Arab coalition fighter jets targeted at dawn
Thursday Houthi fortifications in al Duraihimi district, located in the
outskirts of Hudaydah and launched air raids against sites of the Houthi rebels
at the western coast of the province.
The Yemeni forces managed over the past few hours to
liberate new strategic areas in al Duraihimi district and the vicinity of
Hudaydah airport, after breaking through the front lines of the Houthi militias
and destroying their fortifications south the city.
Meanwhile, the Houthi militias admitted that two of
their senior ground leaders have been killed during the operation that was
launched earlier by the Yemeni forces to liberate Hudaydah city and its
strategic port.
In addition, local sources reported that the Houthi
rebels have mined Hudaydah port and many of its facilities, aiming to blow it
up in case Yemen's legitimate and coalition forces achieve advances against
them in the area.
