Lombardi: Muslim Brotherhood suppresses those who decry extremism
Lombardi, who was speaking at a seminar
held by Center for Middle East Studies in Paris (CEMO), said these associations
are supported by the human rights associations and a number of leftist
organizations, in addition to the support of French journalists.
He added that the Muslim Brotherhood
is pressuring to criticize those who decry extremism and anybody opposing their
speech democratically. He pointed out that there are lawyers in France who take
advantage of Western tolerance favoring these organizations that have been in
France for years.
The seminar is organized on the
sidelines of the G7 summit in Biarritz, a seaside town on the southwestern
French Basque coast. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is attending the
summit for the first time.
Mariam Benrand, a political violence
specialist at the Arab and Islamic World Research and Studies Institute of the
French Ministry of Higher Education, participates in the seminar. .
Renowned Middle Eastern affairs
specialist Roland Lombardi is also participating, along with renowned
researcher Joachim Veliocas.
