Iraqi security forces foil plot to form terrorist cell in Baghdad

Iraqi authorities have thwarted a plot to form a terrorist cell in the capital Baghdad and arrested all its members, Iraqi Security Media Center announced Tuesday.

Acting upon a tip-off, all members of the terrorist cell were arrested in different parts in Baghdad, the statement said.

They were referred to the bodies concerned for interrogation, according to the statement.

Despite the group’s crushing defeat at its main havens across Iraq, Daesh continues to launch sporadic attacks against troops with security reports warning that the militant group still poses a threat against stability in the country.
